We love Nebinger. Nebinger offers an incredible array of programming and amazing teachers. There is such joy when our community gathers on our playground. But our playground could use some love. We want to revamp the playground. We need to update the equipment, make it more accessible, and make it work for older kids. Basically, we want to make it awesome for a K-8 school!
Playgrounds are safe spaces where kids develop crucial physical, social, emotional and imaginative skills necessary to gain self-confidence, improve coordination, and advance critical thinking capabilities. Through play, children learn about the world and themselves. They also learn skills they need for study, work and relationships such as confidence. We want to make the Nebinger playground the best it can be for every child and family that enjoys it!
This will be a multi-year effort. The SAC and School Administration are launching a Playground Revitalization Task Force that will take on the planning for this effort. The Nebinger PTA is raising funds over the next two years (2023-2024 + 2024-2025) to make this dream a reality. This year our goal is $15,000 to get it off the ground.

We couldn't be Nebinger without your participation in our community. The School District of Philadelphia provides so much to support the work of educating our students, but we also count on our friends and families to contribute their time, skills and resources.

The Nebinger PTA is one of only two PTA's in the entire district. Being a PTA give us the special ability to raise additional funds to help support the many programs and facilities improvements that go above and beyond what we could normally do.

Nebinger Elementary provides so much to the students in our community and all at no cost to our families. Those who have ever enrolled their children in daycare or have had to pay for child care to cover before/after school know how much it can cost. We hope you will consider making a gift of any amount to offset those savings and give it back to our school.

Please consider making your contribution a monthly recurring gift. Just think of how much one can spend on small pleasures like coffee ($2.50/day x 5 days a week x 4 weeks = $50 / month) or how much you are saving by utilizing before or aftercare programs at our school. Or does your child participate in the drama, art clubs, robotics clubs free of charge? If we all come together, we can make this happen for Nebinger.
Let's give back for our own kids, but also for the kids that will follow our children into our favorite school. Let's give them a playground that nurtures them and meets the needs of young kids and teenagers alike. We thank you for your support and can't wait to share updates as we progress!
